  • Placing a towel or some layers of paper towels on the stop so that the urine is absorbed. The next step involves making a solution for cleaning. The cleanser is made by mixing a solution of 2 cups of warm water, 2 cups of vinegar along with 4 tablespoons of baking soda.
  • The solution is then stored into a spray bottle and is then sprayed over the soiled area. The solution applied over the area is allowed to sit for 5 to 10 minutes. The area is then bloated with a soft cloth. If the stains are heavier, baking soda is sprinkled directly over the stain of the carpet. 
  • Then an equal mixture of vinegar and warm water is applied on the area and allowed to sit for 5 minutes. The area is then bloated up with a cloth.

  • Treating The Soiled Areas: – Prior to the treatment and odour removal from the carpet, it is essential in removing any dried spills, bloat away the wetness and application of soaps on the satins that are prominent. The carpet needs to be in the best state prior to treating the smell.
  • Sprinkling of Baking Soda:- The baking soda helps in neutralizing the odours that is trapped. A thin layer of coat needs to be created and hence you will require a large box of baking soda for each of the room that is supposed to be cleaned. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to the mixture of baking soda, if you like the carpet to leave a fresh smell. Now use it as normal baking soda.
  • Allow The Baking Soda to Sit: This will take several hours. If the carpet odours is very bad, sitting of the mixture for overnight is recommended. At this stage it is advised to keep away the pets and children away from the room.
  • Vacuuming The Soda: – Monitoring the cleaner bag of vacuum or the canister is necessary. The soda fills the bag very quickly. Empty the bag as necessary.
  • Deep Cleaning: – If the baking soda fails to work, make your own treatment. This will require 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide, half a cup of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of liquid soap and 1 litre of water. Mix the ingredients in an open container and test it in the hidden area of the carpet before application on the whole of it. Use of gloves is advised and the mixture should not be covered.
  • Spraying The Carpet: – Spraying is better as it provides an even coat. Keep the nozzle open and store the remaining liquid in a closed spray bottle. Saturate the carpet while applying the spaying liquid. It is advised to wear gloves, while pouring the liquid into the bottle.
  • Allow Sitting for 24 Hours: – The treatment requires a lot of time to work, preferably 24 hours. Therefore, it should be left untouched. While ventilating the room, pets and children should be avoided.
  • Soaking Excessive Liquid: – If the areas are wet, it is advised to use an old or white towel in removing it. Air-dry the remaining wetness.
